14. "Stage Fright" by James Howe

Stage Fright (Sebastian Barth Mystery)This is an entry in another series by the author of Bunnicula. In Stage Fright, 13-year-old Sebastian Barth faces the mystery of who in the local summer-stock production is sending threatening notes to renowned actress Michaele Caraway.

The writing seemed awkward and cliched, the characters shallow. I didn't dislike the book, but it doesn't stand out as particularly good or unusual. I don't think I'll read others in this series, but I'm still looking forward to the rest of the Bunnicula sequels.
